Health and Safety

Scouting Safely is the responsibility of every leader that works with youth. The primary resource providing guidance for leaders is the Guide to Safe Scouting. It is printed yearly and available at all scout stores. BSA updates it quarterly and makes the newest information available via the national website. Every unit should review relevant portions and have a copy with them on every outing. The online version is available HERE.

On this page you will soon be able to find information about incident reporting, Cyber Chip, bullying, cyber bullying, Tour Plans, Youth Protection training, overnight camping guidelines, service project planning & tool usage guidelines, and outdoor safety.

Safety training resources for topics such as First Aid/CPR/AED, Wilderness First Aid, sawyer, paddlecraft safety, NRA instructor, and rock climbing are coming. Need information about BSA’s accident & sickness insurance plan? It will be here.
