Fall Weekends at Jack Nicol Cub Camp

Fall in the mountains is a wonderful time of the year.  Colors are bursting, wildlife abounds and Cub Scouts have great opportunities for FUN!!!!

Listed below is the Fall Schedule for Cub Scout activities.  Please note that some have age/rank restrictions while others are open to the whole family.  Come and have a great time in the GREAT OUTDOORS at Jack Nicol Cub Camp!

CUB SCOUT FIELD SPORTS WEEKEND – SEPTEMBER 8-9, 2018

Come to camp and hone your skills on the BB, archery and wrist rocket ranges.  Scouts will rotate through the ranges for  a weekend filled with fun!  They will be using the new Cub Scout Level 1 and 2 Shooting Sports program.  You must attend both days to complete the requirements for both levels.  (If you have to arrive late or leaver early you can still complete some of the disciplines.)  There will also be some team games and other field sports.  This event is for registered Cub Scouts and their adult partner only.  (Sorry, no

siblings.)

Check-in at 9 AM on Saturday and be ready to head home by 4 PM on Sunday.

The fee is $45 for Scouts and $25 for adults.  This includes all program materials, ammo, lunch Saturday through lunch Sunday and awards.

You will need to bring your own camping gear for Saturday night and your personal gear as well.  (There will be some tents available for those who do not have their own.  Be sure to select that option in the “Classes” tab on your registration.)

Please do not bring guns, bows, arrows, etc.  We can only use those that have been approved.

FALL FAMILY FESTIVAL – SEPTEMBER 22, 2018

Join us for a day enjoying the beautiful Rock Mountains and the fall colors at their peak!  Enjoy ga

mes of all kinks.  Check-in begins at 9 AM, come at your leisure.  There will be staff available to lead hikes or you may take a hike on your own.  Staff-led hikes will depart at 10 AM, 12 Noon and 2 PM.  These hikes will last approximately 2 hours.  All hikes must depart no later than 2 PM  Please do not arrive after 2 PM.  Other activities include GaGa Pit, fishing hole, corn hole bean bag toss and more!

The cost is $10 per person (5 years old and up) and include lunch, program supplies and a patch.  Check-out by 4 PM at the camp office to get your patch.

 

TIGER ROAR – OCTOBER 6, 2018

If you are a new Tiger Scout you will not want to miss this fun day in the Rocky Mountains.  We will have a lot of activities centered on elective achievements in the Tiger program.  Hiking, games and some nature activities will be included.  Don’t miss out on the fun in the GaGa pit!  *There will be limited shooting sports activities on this day due to the shooting sports program offered the weekend of September 8-9.*

Check-in  at 9 AM, lunch at noon and be headed home by 4 PM.

The fee is $10 for youth and $5 for adults and includes lunch, program supplies and a patch.  All are welcome but program will be limited to Tigers only.

HAUNTED WEEKENDS – OCTOBER 19-21 and 26-28, 2018

This is a fun, family weekend chock full of activities with a Halloween theme.  Carve pumpkins, nature hikes, games galore, shooting sports, costume contest and of course the HAUNTED CASTLE!  There are two versions of the Haunted Castle, the very mild version for the younger guys and the slightly scarier version for Cub Scout age.  You can participate with your whole family or you can come with your pack or den, or just a Cub and parent!  There are options to camp on Friday and/or Saturday nights – bring your own camping equipment.  (There will be some tents available for those who do not have their own.  Be sure to select that option in the “Classes” tab on your registration.)   For those who camp on Friday Night, we will provide the added bonus of breakfast on Saturday morning; for those who camp Saturday night we will provide breakfast on Sunday morning (camp both nights and get breakfast both days).

Check-in Friday from 6-9 PM or Saturday from 7-9 AM.  (You must be check-in by 9 PM Friday to get breakfast on Saturday.)  Check-out by 10 AM on Sunday.

The fee is $35 for youth 5-17, $20 for adults 18 and up, 4 and under are free!

How to Register for Fall Weekends:  Registration opens at 8 AM – August 1!

  1. Go to:  Longs Peak Council-Tentaroo Registration
  2. Login to your unit account (if you are registering as an individual log in to that account.)  If you are a new to this system and do not have an account, create a new account.
  3. In the “events” menu select “Fall Weekends”.  Select “Add Event Registration”.  This will bring up a list of the events to choose from.  Select the event you want to attend and click continue.  It will ask for the # of youth, # of youth under 4 and # of adults.  Once you have enter the number for each, click save.  At this point you will get one of two screens depending on the event you selected.
  4. If you get the options to “Continue” or “Pick Options” select “Pick Options” and select tents if you don’t have your own, and which nights (if any) you will spend the night at camp, and click save.  
  5. Next select “+ New Youth Registration”.  At this point you will pick the youth you want to register from the roster that populates (if there is no roster, go to the “Your Roster” tab and enter the youth and adults in your roster.) Select a name and it will show a list of participant types (if there is an option for youth 4 and under) next to the names.  Select the name and then the participant type (disregard the $$ here as this is showing the total for your order not each individual).  Because the system is not set up to register youth girls, set them up in your profile as youth with their correct grade and pick any rank.  Make sure you save after each name.
  6. Continue this process for each individual until all are registered.
  7. Once you have registered everybody you can go to the “Cart” and make your payment.  If you do not wish to pay with a credit card do not submit anything, leave the information in your “cart” and mail your payment to:  Longs Peak Council, PO Box 1166, Greeley, CO  80632-1166.  Keep in mind that you will not actually be registered until your payment is processed in the Greeley Office.

STAFF

We need staff for each of the Cub Scout Weekends at Jack Nicol Cub Camp. Staff needed for theses weekends are adults and some youth 11+ years of age. If you would like to help, we would really appreciate it!  Fall Family Festival and Tiger Roar are one day events, Cub Scout Shooting Sports Weekend is two days and the two Haunted Weekends are 3 days.  You can register online using the following instructions:

  1. Go to:  Longs Peak Council-Tentaroo Registration
  2. Login to your unit or personal account.  If you are a new to this system and do not have an account, create a new account.
  3. In the “events” menu select “Staff Registration – Fall Weekends”.  Click “Add Event Registration” and select “2018 Staff Reg Fall Weekends”.
  4. Enter the number of adults you are registering and click save.
  5. It will give you a screen with the button “+New Adult Registration” – select that button.  At this point you will pick the adults you want to register from the roster that populates (if there is no roster, go to the “Your Roster” tab and enter the adults in your roster.) Select a name.  It will show the persons profile, but click the “Classes” tab or the “Continue to pick classes” button and it will show a list of Fall Weekend events to choose from.  Select the weekend you want and click and drag it to the box on the left.  You can choose any or all of the events listed.  Be sure to save after you have selected the weekend for each person.
  6. Continue this process for each individual until all are registered.
  7. Once you have registered everybody you can go to the “Cart”.  Be sure to click “Submit” in the cart.  Keep in mind that you will not actually be registered until you have submitted your registration.
