Nicol Cub Camp

The Jack Nicol Cub Scout Camp is located on part of the Ben Delatour Scout Ranch near Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. The camp has its own program tailored to the Cub Scout experience.

 Food, Fun & Facilities

Campers at Camp Nicol stay in 2 person canvas wall tents on wooden platforms with 2 canvas cots (there are 5 tents and a picnic table in each site). Individual hot showers are available at either of the 2 shower facilities which also house sink rooms. Camp Nicol has a number of latrines (sorry no flush toilets), each with wash sinks and drinking water.

All of your meals are served cafeteria style in the beautiful Tointon Dining Hall. In addition to our “Kid Friendly” menu there is a large salad bar.

Everything you need for all of the programs is supplied: from BBs and Archery, to craft items, to Frisbees for a round of Disc Golf. You will be greeted by a staff trained to handle your needs. That includes a medic that is certified to handle our medication distribution at meal times.

The camp Trading Post is stocked with camp t-shirts, caps, water bottles and basic camp supplies. We also offer snacks and drinks and it is the place to pick up your shooting sports patches and extra glow stuff for the Light Parade.

Year Round Use at Nicol

Nicol Cub Camp is available all year round for campouts and activities but is usually busy in the summer and fall with a variety of activities including our fall weekend adventures. Jack Nicol Cub Scout Family Camp will be busy this fall with our Fall Weekends including Cub Scout STEM Day, Webelos BB Gun & Archery Days, Fall Color Hikes, Tiger Cub Adventure Days and Haunted Weekends.

New Camp Director

The LPC Camping Department is very pleased to announce that Brandy Womack will be the Camp Director for Jack Nicol Cub Scout Camp. Brandy is well known among Rocky Mountain District Scouts and Scouters. She is an experienced resident camp staff person and NCS certified in camp management.

Brandy will be coming in to work in the office as needed so she can structure the all new program including consolidating all sessions of the 2017 camp as family camping. That’s correct. Jack Nicol Cub Scout camp WILL BE family camping in 2017 except for the Arrow of Light session that will be limited to Webelos II Scouts.
