If you ever wanted to learn to operate a chainsaw safely and how to cut down a tree properly here’s your chance. Camp Laramie Peak will be hosting a Sawyer Weekend, November, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. (weather permitting). The cost is just $20.00 per person which cover’s food and paper work. Must be 18 years old or older to take the class. Bring a cot and sleeping bag, there are heated indoor sleeping areas. Classroom instruction will begin Friday night at 8 p.m. Saturday morning starts with demonstrations on cutting down trees along with hands on sessions supervised by our saw bosses. There will be snacks Friday night. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday.
Karl Brown the Council Conservation Chairman, Jim Schmitt and Royden James CLP Conservation committee will be there to assist while Tanner Manley is teaching the course.
If you would like to bring some of your scouts along to camp out and help move logs and branches around, they are welcome to come up, just let us know so we can plan accordingly for food. The cost per scout will be $15.00 to cover food cost. Payments will be collected at camp but you MUST PRE-REGISTER BEFORE OCTOBER 26TH.
