What is NYLT?

National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, action-packed program for Boy Scout and Venturing Junior Leaders which provides youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use both in and outside of Scouting: in their home troops, crews, churches, families, school, and other situations.You will participate in fun games, projects, team-building activities, inspirational flag ceremonies and campfire programs. You will enjoy presentations and activities focusing on key leadership skills. (More Details)

Event Details

Who Is Eligible:

Boy Scouts

  • Ages 13 – 17
  • Minimum First Class Rank
  • Completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) troop level training
  • Hold a troop-level leadership position
  • Have a current BSA Health and Medical Record form parts A, B, and C
  • Parent/Guardian permission
  • Scoutmaster approval

Venturing Participants

  • Registered youth member of a Venturing crew (age 13-20)
  • Completed Crew Officer Orientation and Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews (ILSC)
  • Hold a crew-level leadership position
  • Have a current BSA Health and Medical Record form parts A, B, and C
  • Parent/Guardian permission
  • Adviser approval

  • $250
  • $212 for Longs Peak Council troop/crews who achieve their 2016 Great Expectations goal
