District Realignment

To enable the Longs Peak Council to better serve a growing and diverse population, a committee of experienced leaders was charged with developing a set of district realignment alternatives that meet both national (BSA) guidelines and local demographic and geographic criteria.

Status Summary

The District Realignment Committee has been working for the past year and a half to identify and evaluate alternatives.

The two remaining options were presented to the Council Board of Trustees at their meeting on December 13, 2007.

Alternative #8 (the 9-District option) has been selected.

Detailed planning and implementation of the realignment is expected to take all of 2008, with the New Districts fully operational by early 2009.
