Indian Peaks Training Courses – Spring 2017

Course: Scoutmaster Position-Specific (SMS)

  • Date/Time: April 19 (6:30 pm – 9:30 pm) plus April 26, 2017 (6:30 pm – 9:00 pm)
  • Location: Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 71st and Lookout Rd, Boulder
  • Description: Understand your duties as an adult leader in a boy-led troop that uses the patrol method. Both sessions are required. SMs and ASMs. Other registered adult leaders welcome.
  • Cost: $5
  • Register: Scout Office or online via Tentaroo by April 14. (see *Note below)
    • On Tentaroo, look for “IP Scoutmaster Specifics Training (SMS)”

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)

  • Date/Time: May 3 (6:30 pm – 9:30 pm)plus May 12-13, 2017 (5:00 pm – 4:00 pm) (overnight)
  • Location: Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, plus Camp Patiya
  • Description: Classroom and hands-on adult leader training to teach outdoor skills to Scouts thru First Class rank. Both SMS and IOLS are required to be “trained’.
  • Cost: $20
  • Register: Scout Office or online via Tentaroo by April 28. (see *Note below)
    • On Tentaroo, look for “IP Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills”.

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

  • Date/Time: May 20, 2017 (9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
  • Location: Camp Patiya
  • Description: Cub Scout leader training to plan and conduct pack successful outdoor activities including camping. Your pack must have a BALOO-trained adult on every overnighter.
  • Cost: $15
  • Register: Scout Office or online via Tentaroo by May 16. (see *Note below)
    • On Tentaroo, look for “IP Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation “.
