Leave No Trace Trainer - Junior Leadership Position

Leave No Trace Trainer is a new junior leader position which qualifies as a leadership position for Star, Life and Eagle rank advancement (and for Venturing leadership requirements).
Leave No Trace Trainer - Responsibilities
Teaches troop/crew and patrol members the principles of Leave No Trace.
Ensures that the troop/crew follows these principles on outings.
Improves Scouts' outdoor ethics decision making skills.
Ideally - has earned the Camping and Environmental Science merit badges.
Is appointed by the Senior Patrol Leader with approval of the Scoutmaster (like most other Troop junior leader positions).
Note - a Scout who wants to help teach Leave No Trace in his Troop but who has not completed the 16-hour LNT Trainer training can serve in the Instructor junior leadership position.
Note - The Leave No Trace Trainer leadership position is a youth position, not an adult position. Adults are encouraged to become Leave No Trace Trainers (by completing the LNT Trainer training), but they DO NOT wear the LNT Trainer position patch.
