PROGRAM REGISTRATION
|
Climbing, mountain biking and the horse programs have a limited number of openings. These are filled on a first-come basis, so advanced registration is strongly recommended.
|
|
|
To register, you will need the ID and password which you were given when you registered online for camp (these were also in the confirmation email which was sent to you).
Some emails "bounced", so if you do not have your ID and password, please contact Cindy Batt at the Council Office (cibatt@bsamail.org, 970 584-2202 or 800 800-4052 Option 1). |
Camp Laramie Peak was purchased in 1920 by a group of volunteers wanting
a place to take Scouts in the wilderness. The rugged terrain, rambling
brooks, and mountain backdrop was the ideal location.
Camp Laramie Peak is located northwest of Wheatland, Wyoming, near the
base of Laramie Peak, in the Medicine Bow National Forest. The elevation
at the Camp is approximately 6800 feet, which means we have cool evenings
and mornings. Our temperatures during camp range from the 40's at night
to the 90's during the day.
SPECIAL SCOUT AND UNIT AWARDS
Individual Scouts will have an opportunity to earn the following awards:
- Project SOAR Award
(Save Our American Resources)
- CLP Honor Troop
This web page is intended to give you basic information about Camp Laramie Peak.
The downloadable 2010 Leader's Guide contains detailed program information, copies of needed forms, award requirements, and more.
(The Leaders Guide is
in format. If you are having problems downloading it, please see these suggestions.)
We are not planning to mail copies of the Guide - please download it and print copies. If you have a reservation and you can't download the Guide, or if you have problems printing it, please contact us and we'll gladly mail you a copy.
UNIT ADULT LEADERSHIP
Each Scout unit - troop, team or crew - is required to
have at least two adult leaders in attendance at all times for each ten
Scouts. One leader must be at least 21 years of age or older. The other
leader may be age 18 or older.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
No pets (dogs, cats or otherwise) are allowed in any of the Longs Peak Council Camps.
All campers (youth and adult) are required to present
a medical form signed by a licensed physician.
The Colorado Boy Scout Camps Medical Form (even though we're in Wyoming) or the BSA Class 3 medical form will be accepted at Camp Laramie Peak.

Could you spare a week this summer to help troops have a successful camp experience? Volunteer for a week at summer camp as a Camp Commissioner!
