100 Years of Scouting The Longs Peak Council delivers Scouting programs that develop character, citizenship, fitness and leadership skills to youth in northeastern Colorado, southeastern Wyoming and western Nebraska.

Cub Scouts - For boys in 1st through 5th grade.

Boy Scouts - For boys 11 years old through high school - outdoor oriented.

Venturing - For 14-21 year old guys and girls - adventure oriented.

Welcome to John Coleman, Jr, our new Longs Peak Council Scout Executive.
John Coleman, JrJohn has been a professional Scouter for 25 years, most recently serving as an Area Director in the BSA's Central Region.

John, his wife Margaret, and two daughters are moving here from Missouri.

Please welcome them to the Longs Peak Council.

* Outdoor Challenge Award
The National Outdoor Challenge Unit Award recognizes troops/teams which have increasing outdoor activity.
This new award replaces the National Camping Award.

* Youth Protection News
Effective June 1, 2010: Youth Protection training is required for all registered volunteers.
-- New leaders are required to take Youth Protection training before they submit an application for registration.
-- Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer’s Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be reregistered.

* Merit Badge Counselors 2010
Our online Merit Badge Counselor lists have been updated from the MBC registration sheets which troops turned in with their rechartering paperwork.
NOTE - if your troop did not turn in a counselor list, your counselors are no longer registered.
